Life grinding away your happiness? It’s time to hit the beach!

In our fast-paced, technology-driven world, it's easy to find life grinding away your happiness. That's why it's crucial to make room for annual beach getaways. Yes, it takes some careful financial planning, saving up, and setting aside three to four days (the more, the better) from your work schedule, but trust us, an annual beach getaway is absolutely worth it.

Now, we understand that not everyone is lucky enough to have a beach in their backyard. For those in landlocked regions, heading to the beach can be a time-consuming and costly affair. Consider yourself fortunate if the nearest beach isn't too far from your location.

Take our own experience, for instance. While living in Minnesota, USA, for five years, we managed just one beach vacation. Being in America's Midwest, which shares no border with the sea or ocean, meant that a trip to the nearest beach involved 2.5 to 3 hours of air travel. However, after moving to Delaware, a small state with picturesque beaches, beach getaways have become an annual tradition for us. We've even started going on day trips to the beach.

The rejuvenating power of spending time near the ocean cannot be overstated. The waves breaking at your feet, the sand slipping beneath them, it all washes away physical fatigue. The briny sea breeze distracts you from your stress and worries. Standing on the shore, gazing at the enigmatic sea, you'll feel healed and restored in no time.

For our fellow Bangladeshis, we're blessed with sandy expanses waiting for us to relax, explore, and bond with rolling waves. No matter where you reside in this beautiful country, the beach is never too far off. We vividly recall our first trip to Cox's Bazar in 2008 and the majestic sunset we witnessed. That evening, the hues of orange, red, and pink streaked across the sky and spoke of love, hopes, and dreams.

In colder climates, summer is synonymous with beach getaways, especially for those who live near the ocean. Why? Because a beach getaway is more than just a vacation; it's an experience that has lasting effects on your body, mind, and soul.

If you haven't watched a sunrise at the beach yet, you're missing out on one of nature's most magnificent phenomena. The sight of the sun rising from the edge of the ocean is worth watching over and over.

After a beach trip, you'll sleep like a baby. Our brains enter a calming state after spending time at the beach. The sound of waves breaking on the shore is incredibly relaxing, which is why many people play the calming 'white noise' of crashing sea waves to sleep at home. Additionally, the cool blue shade of the sea has a soothing effect on our nerves.

Beach getaways also offer opportunities for physical activities. Walking or jogging along the seashore and swimming in the sea reenergize our bodies and minds. Playing catch or frisbee at the beach is fun, especially if you're accompanied by children.

Want to unplug from technology? Sand, water, and gadgets don't mix well. The beach is the perfect place for a technology detox.

If you live in Bangladesh, you don't need to go overseas to enjoy the pleasures and benefits of a beach holiday. Take advantage of living in a country that boasts the planet's longest unbroken natural sea beach — Cox's Bazar. We also have Inani, Parki, Patenga, Kuakata beaches, and more.

Remember, nearly one-third of our body is water, and one-third of our Earth is water, too. It's no coincidence that we feel at peace near the ocean.

Don't overlook the advantages of going on a vacation. It's not a luxury but a necessity in today's fast-paced, technology-driven world. So, if you want to boost productivity, improve health, lower stress, lift your mood, and strengthen your relationships, plan at least one vacation every year. And when you do, make "beach getaway" your number one choice; we assure you that you will not be disheartened.
