Naseem's Injury Casts Doubt on Pakistan's Participation in Crucial Early World Cup Fixtures

Pakistan's promising fast bowler, Naseem Shah, may find himself sidelined for the early matches of the upcoming Cricket World Cup in India. This setback comes on the heels of an unfortunate injury to his bowling shoulder during the Asia Cup.

During a Super Four match against India in Colombo, the 20-year-old right-arm bowler was unable to complete his 10th over and had to leave the field. The injury forced him to miss Pakistan's subsequent game against Sri Lanka. To assess the extent of his injury, Naseem Shah flew to Dubai for scans.

Meanwhile, another pace bowler, Haris Rauf, who was absent from the Sri Lanka match due to a side strain sustained against India, is expected to recover in time for the World Cup, which is scheduled to kick off on October 5th.

Pakistan's skipper, Babar Azam, provided an update on Rauf's condition, stating that it wasn't a severe issue. Azam mentioned, "He's just dealing with a minor side strain, but he's on the path to recovery ahead of the World Cup."

Azam, however, couldn't provide a specific timeline for Naseem Shah's recovery but expressed optimism that the young speedster would eventually be able to participate in the World Cup.

Pakistan, who clinched the World Cup title in 1992, will commence their campaign on October 6th against the Netherlands in Hyderabad. The team will be eagerly awaiting updates on Naseem Shah's condition as they prepare for this prestigious tournament.
